Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi said on Saturday that over 120 Afghan nationals, who were amongst the PTI protestors marching towards Islamabad, had also been arrested in the last 24 hours.

Speaking to the media at D-Chowk in Islamabad, he said that the arrests of Afghan nationals were quite alarming.

He added that police personnel were fired at Pathar Garh area due to which 85 of them were injured. “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is responsible for all the chaos we are witnessing today,” the minister said, adding, “And he will have to pay its price.”

He expressed the resolve that the government would never allow the PTI to sabotage the SCO summit to be held in the federal capital only a few days from today. “The government tried to make the party understand that they should postpone their protest in view of the event. But their only objective is to create a law and order situation at the time when foreign delegates will be in the country.”

“There could be no talks with those storming the capital city. Gandapur you are crossing the limits,” Naqvi told the KP CM.

He also apologized to the people of Islamabad for the inconvenience caused to them due to road blockades. “The PTI’s dream of toppling the government will never materialize,” the minister vowed.
