The wave of inflation in Peshawar could not be reduced and ginger in the vegetable market hit an all-time high and was sold for Rs850 in the city wherein the district administration failed to implement the official price issued for various food items.

Likewise, the ginger, the price of garlic also hit a high and was sold at Rs760 per kg instead of on official rate of Rs500. The price of onion also increased with every passing day and it was sold at Rs220 instead of on official rate of Rs110.

The rates of other food items including tomato Rs180, potato Rs160, Kachalu Rs180, green pepper Rs150, capsicum Rs170, eggplant 1Rs80, cauliflower Rs160, okra Rs220/kg being sold in the vegetable market.

Similarly, the price of fruits also increased and apples are being sold at Rs350 instead of on official rate of Rs230. The mango Rs310, lychee Rs430, peach Rs320, cherry Rs430, persimmon Rs330 while banana was sold at Rs180 per dozen.

The price of live chicken reaches Rs475 per kg while the price of eggs per dozen in the market remains Rs290.
