Electricity consumers in Karachi are likely to benefit from a substantial rate reduction, with expected decreases of up to Rs 6.62 per unit.

This adjustment is part of the monthly fuel price adjustment (FPA) mechanism.

Sources indicate that a request for a reduction in fuel charges for February has been submitted to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).

Additionally, NEPRA has completed hearings regarding a nationwide price reduction of Rs1.71 per unit.

A formal decision is expected following a thorough review of the submitted data.
